The purpose of this research is to analyze speech aspects of middle school students without educational measures, apprehend speech levels of learners and seek for the educational contents and ways appropriate for them. It is likely to lower adaptability to today`s educational arena when we set up a standard of speech achievement. In this manuscript, speech aspects of middle school students are categorized by aspects of topic selection, contents development, speech expressions and coordination. In an aspect of topic selection, planned a speech to gain listeners` response but a contradiction happened that doesn`t arouse ‘a change of listener`s behavior’, the purpose of persuasive speech. In an aspect of contents development, several fallacies are observed such as extreme expressions, inappropriate questions, forced logic, taking an absurd experience as an example, emphasizing over-neutrality to gain sympathy of listeners without systematic strategies for persuasion. In an aspect of speech expressions and coordination, speech is changed into just reading a text of speech at the level of reading prepared manuscript without interaction with listeners. It is suggested that middle school students need educational contents to help precise understanding of speech, concrete knowledge listener`s condition, the distinction between ‘articulating’ and ‘speaking,’ importance of speech planning and preparation and strategies for dealing with speech anxiety.
