This paper attempts to provide a new perspective to understand Multiculturalism through the concept of Human Security. A considerable number of studies have been conducted on Multiculturalism in Korea. However, considering that Migration now became one of the biggest worldwide topics in International Politics and International Development studies, South Korea should acknowledge its lack of studies in these fields. There are various ways to analyze today`s Multicultural situations in the world. Among those, this paper focuses on the concept of Human Security as one of the way to approach to Multiculturalism. I will point out the current international politics have strong point of view that the migration issues should be approached undoubtedly as human rights issues through this article. A human security perspective can encourage exploratory thinking and provide conceptual space for deeper understandings of ‘human’, ‘movement’ and ‘borders’, to help overcome the limits of conventional analytical and policy dualisms and dichotomies.
