본 연구의 목적은 아동이 활동하고 있는 주거커뮤니티 환경에서 아동의 생활을 지원하고 아동의 발달을 도모할 수 있는 아동친화적 공간환경 디자인지침을 찾아보고, 도출된 공간환경 디자인지침들의 특성을 파악해보는 것이다. 이를 위하여 아동을 위한 환경에 대하여 선행 연구해 온 문헌들을 대상으로 디자인지침을 추출하는 문헌분석 방법을 사용하였다. 본 연구에서는 주거커뮤니티 환경을 주거환경, 옥외 놀이환경, 근린환경으로 구분하였고, 각 분야별로 연구자의 전문성과 연구내용의 적합성을 따져 총 9 개의 주요 문헌을 선정하였다. 디자인지침 도출에 대한 기준에 따라 각 문헌에서 디자인지침을 도출한 후, 이를 공간별로 종합하여 정리하여 주거환경분야 44 개, 옥외 놀이환경분야 73 개, 근린환경분야 58 개의 공간환경 디자인지침을 추출하였다. 추출된 디자인지침들의 특성을 분석한 결과, 공간 계획요소 측면으로는 시설에 관련된 지침들이 가장 많이 나타났고, 아동발달 관점의 디자인요소 측면으로는 주거환경과 근린환경 부분에서 안전에 관한 지침들이 가장 많이 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to seek possible child-friendly planning guidelines for spatial environments of residential community to support their life and development. This study adopted content analysis method to take planning guidelines from previous academic literatures on children environment. This study categorized residential community environment into 3 major fields, i.e. residential environment, outdoor play environment, and neighborhood environment respectively. And it adopted total 9 major sources of literature according to researchers` professionalism and appropriateness of their studies in each field. Next, it selected a planning guideline from each literature according to extraction standard, and thereby summed up them. As a result, this study could extract total 175 planning guidelines on spatial environment (44 in residential environment, 73 in outdoor play environment, and 58 in neighborhood environment). According to analysis on characteristics of planning guidelines as derived above, it was found that most guidelines focused on facility in the aspect of spatial planning factors. In the aspect of planning factors from the viewpoint of child development, it was found that most guidelines focused upon safety in residential and neighborhood environment.
