최근 인터넷 자원은 양적 증가와 함께 학술 정보 자원으로서의 가치가 증대되고 있다. 이용자의 다양한 요구를 수용하기 위하여 다양한 사이트들이 여러 기능을 포괄적으로 제공하는 일반 포털사이트를 지향하고 있으며, 특정분야의 전문적인 학술정보툴 제공하는 전문 포털사이트도 개발되고 있다. 현재 개발된 일반 포털 사이트들은 대부분 키워드 검색엔진과 디렉토리 서비스를 병행하여 제공하고 있다. 그러나 디렉토리 서비스에서 해당 항목 아래 분류된 인터넷 자원은 상업적인 컨탠츠에 치중되어 광범위한 주제분야를 포괄하지 못하고 있으며, 이들 사이트의 분류체계는 표준화된 설계 원칙 없이 독자적인 체계 및 접근 방식을 가지고 있어 이용자의 효율적인 정보 검색에 어려움을 주고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점이 디자인과 관련된 디렉토리 서비스에서도 발견되고 있어 산업 디자인정보를 보다 체계적으로 분류하여 설계하기 위하여 포털 사이트에서의 디렉토리 분류체계를 조사, 분석하였다. 특히 기존 일반 포털사이트들의 디렉토리 서비스 분류체계가 산업 디자인 관련 정보를 제공하는데 적합한지를 평가하기 위하여 대표적인 일반 포털 사이트인 야후 코리아, 네이버와 디자인 전문 포털사이트인 Design DB 를 대상으로 각각의 분류항목을 비교, 분석 하였다.
In recent times, the Internet resources are increasing and being valued as sources of academic information. Various general portal sites are being developed to provide overall functions to on-line users in conformity to their various demands, and special portal sites are also being invented to give professional academic information on specific fields. Most of the general portal sites, which are being used now, are providing both keyword retrieval engines and directory services. However, the Internet resources classified under the appropriate items of directory services are inclined to commercial contents and do not comprise a wide variety of subjects. In addition, those sites are not grouped in accordance with standardized design principles but with their independent system and approaches, and do not provide users with effective information retrieval services. Such problems may be found the directory services related to industrial designing. In this regard, this thesis is aimed to investigate and analyze the system to classifying industrial design-related directories in general portal sites in order to more systematically group and design industrial design information. In particular, representative general portal sites such as Yahoo Korea, Naver, and Design DB (specializing in designs) are compared for their classifying items, so as to evaluate if the system for classifying directory services of the existing general portal sites is suitable to give information on industrial designs.
