이번 연구는 지금까지 하드웨어를 중심으로 한 미디어와 정보디자인을 컨텐츠의 전달이란 관점에서 바라 보고 컨텐츠와 미디어의 관계, 그리고 매체의 하드웨어적 특성을 고찰하여 사용자와의 상호 커뮤니케이션을 어떻게 효율적으로 극대화 할 것인가에 관한 연구이다. 이번 연구는 박물관을 위한 트렌스미디어 시스템인 모비움을 통해 미디어를 유기적으로 연동하여 사용자가 컴퓨터를 기계적으로 사용하는 것이 아니라 멀티미디어를 이용한 정보의 체험을 통하여 정보를 지식화 하는 시스템에 관한 것이다. 모비움의 특징은 스토리라는 전달방법을 통해 컨텐츠를 전달하는 것과, 박물관 관람객이 하이퍼링크를 통해 해당 공간에서 직접 유물과 연결됨으로써 지금까지의 수동적 관람이 아닌 자신이 정한 스토리를 통해 주체적으로 유물들 간의 관계를 정립하는 것이다. 모비움과 같은 트렌스미디어 시스템의 경우 하나의 데이터베이스 만으로 다앙한 다이나믹 컨텐츠가 다앙한 디지털 미디어를 통해 재생될 수 있다. 그러므로 컨텐츠의 유형과 특성을 잘 이해하여 개발하면 사용자에게 경험할 수 있는 최적의 미디어를 경험하도록 할 수 있다.

This thesis is about the media efficency of communication between user and transmedia system through the choosing the best media type for the suitable content. This integrated tansmedia design system allows for strategic planning on how museum content can be delivered to an audience efficiently and uniquely through the use of information technology. To use of digital metaphor, visitors become hyperlinks themselves and connect and create new meaning and relationship from the museum experience as the system provides storytelling based on their interests as they evolve and manifest their visit. The tansmedia system, Mobium, uses a database to provide various digital contents through multiple media types. The content provider need deep understanding of the characteristics of each medium to provide a great media experience to the user.
