본 연구에서는 아동 및 청소년 상담에 있어서 자녀의 심리적 어려움에 대한 어머니의 전문적 도움추구 행동에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 어머니의 성인 애착(불안 애착, 회피 애착)이 전문적 도움추구 행동(전문적 도움추구 태도, 전문적 도움추구 의도)에 영향을 미치는데 있어서 상담에 대한 유용성 기대와 암묵적 낙인이 매개역할을 하는지 살펴보았다. 대구·경북·울산·경남에 소재한 초·중·고등학생 자녀를 둔 어머니 220명을 대상으로 하였으며, 자료 분석을 위해 구조방정식을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 불안 애착은 암묵적 낙인의 매개를 통해 전문적 도움추구 태도에 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 회피 애착은 상담에 대한 유용성 기대의 매개를 통해 암묵적 낙인에 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 상담에 대한 유용성 기대는 암묵적 낙인의 매개를 통해 전문적 도움추구 태도에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 넷째, 상담에 대한 유용성 기대와 암묵적 낙인은 전문적 도움추구 태도의 매개를 통해 전문적 도움추구 의도에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 결과를 통해 어머니의 불안 애착이 높을수록 상담에 대한 유용성에 대해 덜 기대하게 되며 이로 인해 결국 전문적 도움추구 태도와 전문적 도움추구 의도가 낮아짐을 알 수 있다. 또한 어머니의 회피 애착이 높을수록 상담에 대한 유용성 기대가 낮아지고 이로 인해 암묵적 낙인이 높아지게 됨을 알 수 있으며, 이를 통해 결국 전문적 도움추구 태도와 의도가 낮아짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구결과들은 아동과 청소년 상담에서 자녀의 심리적 어려움에 대한 어머니의 전문적 도움추구 행동에 영향을 미치는 요인들에 대한 유용한 정보를 제공하고 있다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of mother`s adult attachment (anxious attachment and avoidant attachment) on the decision of counseling for children and adolescents, and the mediating roles of anticipated benefits of counseling and courtesy stigma between insecure attachment and professional help seeking behavior. Two hundred and twenty mothers of primary, middle, and high school students in Daegu, Gyeongsangbukdo, Ulsan and Gyeongsangnamdo province participated in this study. The results of the current study showed that ⒜ anxious attachment influenced attitudes on the decisions to seek professional help through the mediation of courtesy stigma, ⒝ avoidant attachment influenced courtesy stigma through the mediation of the anticipated benefits of counseling, ⒞ anticipated benefits of counseling influenced attitudes on the decisions to seek professional help through the mediation of courtesy stigma, ⒟ and anticipated benefits of counseling and courtesy stigma influenced the intention of seeking professional help through the mediation of attitudes on the decisions to seek professional help. Results suggest that the mediating roles of anticipated benefits of counseling and courtesy stigma are important in the relation of mother`s insecure attachment and the decision of counseling for children. These results might provide directions for the research and practice on professional help seeking behavior for children and adolescents counseling.
