This study analyses the overseas successful cases of the Guggenheim Museums of New York, Bilbao and Venezia, to induce the successful strategy to build a creative city. To build a successful creative city, there must be a long history and tradition in the aspect of space, including diversified cultural and artistic spaces, together with dynamic city image. In other words, it is necessary to utilize cultural assets and to develop the tradition-based industries. In the aspect of institution, there must be some diversified industries and diversified supports of the local governments. Additionally, in the aspect of community, it is required to induce voluntary civil participation and make efforts to nurture creative resources with the cooperation of the professional institutions such as universities, research centers, etc.
