라이프스타일이 다양해짐에 따라 주거 다양성에 대한 요구가 높다. 그러나, 아파트에 편중되어 있는 국내의 주택 유형은 다양한 라이프스타일을 충분하게 지원하고 있지 못하다. 이를 해결하기 위한 대안 중의 하나가 현대 한옥이다. 본 논문에서는 현대 한옥의 활성화가 우리나라의 주거 다양성을 제고할 수 있다는 전제하에 문헌과 국가통계자료 분석을 통하여 현대 한옥을 공급하는 전략적 방향을 다음과 같이 제안한다. 첫째, 수분양자를 확보하기에 유리한 입지를 선정한다. 대도시 인근 교외에 입지하는 것이 수분양자확보에 효과적이며, 특히 단독주택 거주경험이 풍부하여 단독주택에 대한친숙도가 높은 경기, 전남, 경북, 충남에 입지하는 것이 유리하다. 둘째, 건축 및 유지관리상의 경제성을 강화한다. 셋째, 친환경 현대 한옥 단지를 조성하여 전통 한옥에서와 같이 자연 및 사회와의 건강한 관계성을 설정하도록 한다. 넷째, 한옥의 대표 디자인 요소인 지붕, 창호, 마당, 마루 등의 디자인 요소를 현대적 재해석에 기반하여 채용한다. 다섯째, 생활 편의 지원설비를 보강하여 쾌적한 공간을 제공한다.

Housing types in Korea are concentrated on the apartment housing though diverse housing types are needed to support different lifestyles of modern people. This paper considered Hanok can contribute to promoting the diversity of housing types, and proposed the strategic approach to supply Modern Hanok. First, Location should be carefully decided to get customers. It would be advantageous for Hanok to get customer when it is located near the big city in Gyunggi, Jeonnam, Gyungbuk, and Chungnam province. Second, Modern Hanok collective housing is recommended to have good relationship with natural and social environment as traditional Hanok does. Third, distinctive design elements of traditional Hanok such as roof, window, Madang and Maroo should included. Forth, modern equipments should be adopted. Fifth, it should be economical in construction and management.
