본 연구는 현대건축공간구성에 있어서 정체성이 있고 시대성이 반영된 공간표현에 중요한 역할을 하는 전이공간의 유형을 분류하고 특성을 파악하였다. 전이공간의 유형은 유니트화된 목적공간과 목적공간의 사이영역이 주변환경과 관계하면서 생성된 목적 공간에 새로운 프로그램을 보충해주는 전이공간 유형 과 가변성을 갖는 전이공간 유형 의 평면분절유형 과 비어진 장소가 적층된 프로그램에 활기를 주는 소통의 공간으로서 열려진 수직광장유형 과 적층된 프로그램 사이의 유동적 프로그램 수용공간 유형 의 단면분절유형 으로 분류된다. 전이공간의 특성은 첫째 움직임과 행위에 의한 장소 사건을 통해 관념화된 장소 분명한 정위를 제공하는 장소를 통해 생성되는 장소성 둘째, 주변을 둘러싼 공간 프로그램과의 상관관계에 의해 생성되는 가변성 셋째 자유로운 공간 표현으로의 이질적 공간에 의해 생성되는 개방성 의 특성을 가지고 있다. 이러한 연구는 건축공간구성에 있어서 전이공간이 다양한 공간과의 접목을 통하여 창의적 건축 공간 구성의 가능성을 주며 현대건축의 다양하고 다원화 되어 있는 양태를 이해하는데 새로운 시각을 제시한다.

A study on the transitional space of contemporary architectures is to propose a new perspective on how to understand and comprehend the diversified and various aspects of contemporary architectures. This study is to research and analyze architectures that inhibit clear illustration of zones of transitional space or those that obscures spatial distinction by interpenetrating mutual spaces when it comes to Architectural Space Composition. Types of the Transitional Space have been categorized into segmented plane types and segmented section types, and it retains characteristics of Placeness, Variability and Openness. Such study presents possibility of creative Architectural Space Composition through grafting of various spaces in Transitional Spaces when it comes to Architectural Space Composition.
