도서관의 역할과 기능은 현대에 들어 점점 그 범위가 확대되어지고 있다. 특히 세기에 들어서는 공공도서관이 복합문화공간이라는 형태로 다양한 20문화적 콘텐츠를 포함하고 있어 도서관의 본래 기능인 도서의 열람 대출외에도 커뮤니티 시설로써 문화적 기능이 요구됨에 따라 지역주민들의 문화 및 여가활동을 지원하는 다양한 실들이 추가되는 등 이용자의 문화적 욕구를 충족시키고 있다 공공도서관의 복합화는 단순히 문화적 기능을 포함하는 시설에 그치지 않고 공공문화복지시설 및 상업적 목적의 시설과도 결합하여 용도와 타겟 시설의 성격이 유사한 것들을 함께 묶어 조금 더 폭넓은 개념으로 복합화의 범주를 정의한다 본 연구에서는 도서정책기획단에서 발표한 년 월 일 기준 공공도서관 개관을 대상으로 복합화 2010 12 31 759의 유 무와 개 광역 및 기초 자치단체 중 공공도서관이 어디에 속하고 168자치단체가 각각 얼마만큼의 공공도서관을 산하에 두고 있음을 조사하였다. 또한 개관 공공도서관을 현 시점에서 복합화가 진행된 곳 계획이 있는 759곳 계획이 없는 곳 가지로 분류하여 조사하였다 이에 본 연구에서는 공 공도서관이 공공도서관 건립 운영 매뉴얼 에 명시된 공간구성 요소를 제외한 개 이상의 기능으로 결합하여 도서관과 동등한 위치에서 복합 화된 사례를 조사하여 시설복합의 유형을 분류하고자 한다 또한 이러한 양상의 복합화가 가져다주는 장단점을 파악하고 필요성을 살펴 앞으로 공공도서관의 복합화 전망에 대해 알아보고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다 본위의 복합화 경향조사를 통해 향후 연구의 기초적 자료를 구축하는데 연구의 의의를 둔다.

The roles and functions of libraries have been gradually expanding in modern times. Especially since the beginning of the 20th century, public libraries have contained various cultural contents as forms of complex cultural spaces, and in order to satisfy requirements not only for the basic functions of libraries such as reading and lending but for cultural functions as community facilities, diverse rooms that support cultural and leisure activities have been added. The complex of public libraries don`t only contain cultural functions, and the range of the complex is defined as a broader concept binding things that have similar use, target, and characteristic together, being combined with public cultural welfare facilities and commercial purpose facilities. Targeting 759 public libraries designated by Library Information Policy Planning Organization in 31 December, 2010, this study surveyed whether the complexes exist, where public libraries are located among 168 local governments and metropolitan councils, and how many public libraries do they have, by classifying it to three places that already have proceeded with the complex, have plans, and have no such schemes. Therefore, this study tries to classify the types of facility complexes through surveying cases that were made complexes in the same position with libraries by combining more than one functions other than the space organization element specified in ``establishment and maintenance manual of public libraries`` Moreover, its purpose is to learn the future public library complex prospects through understanding the merits and demerits that these aspects of complexes bring about, and the necessity. The results of this survey on the complex trend shall be the basic materials for the future studies.
