대학은 지식공동체로 형성된 하나의 사회이며, 대학의 역할과 기능은 시대의 흐름에 따라 변화하였으며 특히, 현대사회에서 대학은 더 이상 교육이라는 특정한 기능을 주고받는 장소로서 보다는 지식 및 인간관계의 상호교류 장소로 의미가 변화하고 있다. 최근 대학캠퍼스는 급변하는 사회·경제·교육 분야의 변화에 대응하기 위하여 캠퍼스 개발계획에 따른 다양한 공간적 대응을 하고 있다. 본 연구는 국내 대학의 시설 현황을 살펴보고, 캠퍼스의 물리적 변화의 원인을 파악하여 캠퍼스 개발계획 양상을 분석하고 유형화하여 캠퍼스 개발 계획의 개선방향 제시를 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구를 통해 분석된 대학캠퍼스 개발계획의 공간적 특성은 다음과 같다. 첫째. 대학캠퍼스는 양적 충족의 단계를 지나, 질적 충족의 시대로 나아가고 있다. 둘째. 도심부 구릉지에 입지한 캠퍼스의 지형특성의 활용과 효율적 공간 활용을 위하여 다층적 캠퍼스개발기법을 사용하고 있다. 셋째, 대학 캠퍼스 내 개발은 대학의 개발 사업에 대한 경험부족과 취약한 재정 상태로 인해 주로 민간 투자의 형태로 이루어지고 있다. 넷째, 단일 캠퍼스 중심에서 복수 캠퍼스로 중심으로 변화하고 있다. 대학 캠퍼스의 개발은 도시발전 측면에서 대학 자체의 독립적인 개발이 아닌, 지역과 매우 밀접한 관계를 가지고 도시와 대학, 지역사회가 함께 공존하고, 긴밀하게 연계되며, 상생할 수 있는 캠퍼스의 조성이 중요하다.

A university is one society formed by the knowledge community, the duty and the function of the university changed by the flow of the times and in particular, a meaning changes into the university more at the mutual interchange place of knowledge and human relations asa place exchanging a specific function called the education more than this in the modern society. Recently, the campus takes a sudden turn to do various spatial correspondence by the campus development program in sake corresponding to the change of the field of education. This study takes research physical campus building index present situation of the university in Seoul, and identify the cause of the physical change of the campus recently. This study was aimed for the improvement direction presentation of the campus development plan by this result. The spatial characteristic of campus development plan analyzed through the study of this study seems to be follow. The first, campus goes along from the stage of the quantitative sufficiency to advance in the times of the qualitative sufficiency. The second. the campus development technique of the multi-layer for practical uses in the Seoul on hillside area. The third, development in the universit campus makes ends meet with the form of the private investment. The fourth, development in the campus change from one campus system to multi campus system. The campus creation that can coexist is important and a community coexists together and it be cooperated closely.
