본 연구는 가상 반려동물 콘텐츠가 지닐 컨셉과 특성을 연구, 그 형태를 구상 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 현재 출시, 활용되는 가상 반려동물은 단순히 즐거움을 위한 장난감 혹은 게임이 주를 이루며, 실제 반려동물만큼의 정서적인 공감이나 가족처럼 같은 공간에서 함께 있다는 느낌을 주기엔 부족했다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존의 가상 반려동물 콘텐츠의 문제점을 정서적인 부분에 초첨을 맞추어 보완한 가상 반려동물을 기획하고자 하였다. 연구 방법으로는 첫째, 실제 반려동물에 대한 전문자료와 사회적 동향 조사를 실시하였다. 둘째, 설문과 인터뷰, 전문자료 리서치를 통해 기존 가상 반려동물의 특성을 살펴보고, 사용자의 니즈를 도출하였다. 셋째, 이에 적합한 콘텐츠의 형태를 설정, N-screen 이라는 새로운 콘텐츠 소비환경을 분석하여 활용 포인트를 도출하였다. 마지막으로 효과적, 감성적으로 사용자에게 만족감을 줄 수 있도록 디자인 컨셉을 구상했다. 본 연구에서는 N-screen기술을 응용한 가상 반려동물 구상 단계까지 연구를 진행하였지만, 향후에는 이를 토대로 연구모형을 기획, 설계해 실증 분석을 시행 할 필요가 있다고 하겠다.

The purpose of this research lies on study Functional Characteristics and Attribute of Virtual Companion Animal contents. Existing virtual companion animal contents in market, all shared a common ground, which is to emphasize enjoyments that games or toys can bring. However, it is hard to say that these products shared emotional sympathy with users nor satisfy consumers by creating a family bond. Thus, throughout the paper, the writer is expecting to fabricate a new style of an imaginary mate animal that can differentiate with others by providing emotionally attached experiences. To discuss about the specific ways, first, a subjective hypothesis is made based on a comparison between the real and substitutes in market, related studies, social atmosphere. Also, surveying and interviewing were important part for understanding the exact need of consumers and verifying the hypothesis and reliable papers. Thirdly, the overall design concept is concluded in a way that customers will get a heart-warming pleasure. N-screen is the key factor to this fulfillment. Last, user`s scenario is prepared. Plus, consumer interface and menus are well organized. The report tried to apply N-screen technology to a design and a plan of fictional companion animals. However, the effort of building a research model, eventually analyzing it seems necessary.
