국내 산업공예업체 및 공예산업이 경쟁력을 강화하고 고부가가치를 창출할 수 있는 산업공예의 디자인 경영 전략은 산업공예업체의 제품 차별화 수단은 물론 브랜드 가치 제고, 새로운 혁신적인 비즈니스 모델을 만드는데 효과적인 수단으로 자리매김하여 경쟁력인 산업분야로 이미지를 변신하여 지속적인 경쟁 우위를 확보할 수 있다. 하지만 디자인 경영 전략만 중요시한다고 해서 성과와 연결이 되는 것은 아니다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 산업공예 디자인 경영 전략과 성과지표의 활용도와의 관계에 대해 알아보려 한다. 연구 과정에서 파악된 주요 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 산업공예 디자인 경영 전략은 성과지표의 활용도에 영향을 미친다. 특히 산업공예 디자인 경영 전략의 하위 요소 중 ‘제품 차별화 전략’이 모든 성과지표의 활용도 하위 요소에 통계적으로 매우 유의하게 정(+)의 방향으로 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 성과지표의 활용도 중 객관적 비재무적 지표, 특히 내부프로세스 관련 측정지표에는 ‘소비자 집중화 전략’과 ‘제품 차별화 전략’ 두 가지가 영향을 미쳤다. 이것은 주주들과 관련된 성과측정 지표기 때문에 그들에게는 제품 차별화 전략뿐만 아니라 소비자 집중화 전략이 상당히 중요하다는 점을 보여준다.

Design management strategy, which strengthens the competitiveness of domestic industrial craft companies and craft industry and creates high values, has been recognized as an effective method to create a new, innovative business model which allows constant competitive superiority by changing the brand image. However, emphasis on design management strategy does not guarantee achievements. Therefore, this paper tries to grasp the relationship between design management strategy of industrial craft and utilization of achievement index. Firstly, design management strategy of industrial craft affects the utilization of achievement index. Especially among the subordinates of design management strategies, only ‘product differentiation strategy’ positively(+) affected the subordinates of utilization of achievement index in a statistically meaningful way. Secondly, ‘customer concentration strategy’ and ‘product differentiation strategy’ affected objective non-financial index and especially the index of interior process, both of which belong to achievement index. Since these are related to the stock holders, it can be inferred that product differentiation strategy as well as customer concentration strategy are highly important to them.
