건축의 공간에서 빛의 활용과 표현은 수동과 능동의 관찰 관점에 따라 전혀 다른 분위기의 공간으로 인식시켜 줄 수 있다. 공간과 공간의 경계를 확인 시켜주는 인지의 역할에서부터 시간의 변화에 따라 경계를 넘나드는 이용자의 움직임은 설계자의 의도나 그들의 의지에 따라 또 다른 건축의 개념을 만들어 준다. 많은 변화로 빠르고 잦은 소통이 요구되는 21세기의 세상에서 상호작용은 매우 중요한 반응의 수단이며 대화와 소통의 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 빛의 미학적이고 철학적인 구분의 방법이 아닌 건축에서 공간을 인식할 때, 건축과 이용자의 상호관련적 관계에서 건축공간이 이용자에게 주어진 빛과 시간과 움직임에 의해 어떻게 인식되는 지를 밝혀 건축형태 구성의 방법으로 사용될 수 있는 이론적 근거를 제시하고자 한다.
