대 사회의 많은 고객들은 인터넷을 통해 여행지와 숙박지에 대한 정보를 탐색한다. 이와 같은 상황에서 본 연구는 호텔 웹사이트에 제공된 로비의 실내디자인의 구성 요소와 서비스 환경에 대한 추론의 관계를 알아보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 대상은 리조트 호텔의 로비로 삼았다. 실내디자인의 구성요소는 컬러, 조명, 레이아웃, 가구 및 장식을 포함했으며, 서비스 환경의 추론은 종업원의 서비스, 객실환경 및 예약, 여가 시설 및 안전에 대한 서비스 추론의 요소를 포함해 측정했다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 호텔로비의 실내디자인의 요소와 서비스 환경 추론은 모든 요소에서 정(+) 의 상관관계를 보여줬다. 실내디자인 요소 중에서도 컬러의 심미성, 조명의 적절성, 가구 및 장식의 심미성이 종업원 서비스 추론과 여가 시설 및 안전에 대한 추론에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 객실 및 예약 서비스의 추론에는 컬러의 심미성과 가구 및 장식의 심미성이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 위와 같은 결과는 실내디자인의 구성요소들에 대한 고객들의 지각이 해당 환경에서 받을 수 있는 서비스의 추론으로 이어지고 있음을 보여준다. 이는 호텔 웹사이트에서 호텔의 실내 디자인에 대한 적절한 정보를 제공한다면 호텔에 대한 긍정적 추론과 기대를 형성하는데 도움이 될 수 있음을 시사한다.

In contemporary society, many customers search on the Internet for travel destinations and accommodations. The aim of this study is at this time to investigate the effect of elements of interior design on customers` inferences about the service environment by using images posted on hotel websites. The object of this study was a resort hotel lobby. The components of interior design are color, lighting, spatial arrangement, furniture, and decorations. Customers` inferences about the service environment were measured by inferences about service of hotel staff, room environment and reservations, recreation facilities and security. The result of study are as follows; The perception of the interior design of the hotel lobby showed a significant correlation with all the elements of inferences about the service environment. Among elements in interior design, the perceptions of aesthetic colors, furniture, and decorations had an impact on the inference about the service staff, recreation and security facilities. Aesthetic colors, appropriateness of lighting, and elements of furniture and decorations influenced inferences about the rooms and reservation services. The results of this study showed a correlation between elements of interior design and inferences about service environment. This implies that if the hotel website provides appropriate information about the interior design of the hotel, it will help build positive inferences about and expectations of the hotel.
