현대의 고도 감성소비사회에서는 감성 및 심미성 등이 소비자의 선택을 좌우하는 중요한 기준이 되고 있다. 이에, 패션에서도 의복의 외관과 재질에 미적 효과를 부여함으로써 소비자의 감성을 충족시킬 수 있는 노력이 계속되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 나무의 선적 이미지를 디자인 모티프로 하여 감성 소재 표현 기법을 도입한 심미성이 부각된 패션디자인을 연구하고자 한다. 연구의 방법으로는 나무의 간지(幹枝)를 대상으로 선적 이미지를 분석하고 나무의 이미지를 응용한 현대 패션 디자인의 사례를 표집 하였다. 이를 토대로 나무의 선적 이미지를 디자인 발상의 모티프로 삼고 심미적 소재 표현 기법을 적용한 패션 소재를 구성하여 이를 활용한 패션디자인을 전개, 제안하였다. 연구의 결과로는 첫째, 나무는 조형 요소인 선에 의하여 풍부한 표현력을 지닌 이미지로 구현됨으로써 다양한 이미지 창출이 가능한 디자인 모티프가 됨을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 소재 표현 기법들의 복합적인 활용은 선적 조형미 뿐 아니라 풍부한 재질효과를 창출할 수 있었다. 셋째, 교목의 선적 조형미를 부각시키기 위하여 색상을 절제하여 적용된 무채색의 색감은 간지(幹枝)의 형상을 강조하여 표현시키기에 적합하였다. 넷째, 나무의 선적이미지를 단순한 패션아이템에 적용한 결과, 나무의 조형미뿐 아니라 감성소재기법의 특성을 효과적으로 표출시킬 수 있었다. 나아가 자연의 이미지와 감성소재기법의 적극적 도입을 통해 패션디자인에 있어서 표현 영역 확대 가능성을 기할 수 있다.
The modern society is an emotional consumer society of high level, where sensitivity and aesthetics are the main criteria of customers` choices. Therefore, it has lead to make an effort that will satisfy customers` sensitivity to the appearance and materials of fabric or clothing by giving the aesthetic effects. This study is doing research on fashion designs that highlight aesthetics making an emphasis on the fabric expression using the image of a tree as a design motive. We analyzed the linear beauty of the trunks and branches of the trees and collected fashion designs derived from the images of the trees. On this base, we proposed and developed new fashion designs with the linear images of the trees as a main motif and fabric materials applied by aesthetic expression techniques. As a result, we realized that the tree is a good design motif, creating various images fully expressed by linear beauty as a design element. Secondly, the expression of linear beauty and material effects of the tree was prominent by complex fabric expression technique. Thirdly, the achromatic colors highlighting the linear image of the arboreal trees were appropriate for emphasizing the figures of the trunks and branches of the trees. Lastly, loading an linear image of a tree in a simple fashion item could effectively express the characteristic techniques of emotional materials as well as the formative beauty of the tree. Furthermore, we can pursue the expansion of the expression fields in fashion design through the active introduction of Images of nature and characteristic techniques of emotional materials.
