本稿では林義端の『玉櫛사』を中心に、義端が提示したかった寓言乃至は創作意圖が信憑性を獲得するための前提條件として、どのような歷史物をいかなる方法で利用したかについて考察した。例えば、卷４の第４話「雨林院」では、江戶時代の初期に廣く續まれた通俗的な歷史書である『武者物語之抄』に書かれている內容を話の冒頭部分に提示することによって、話に對する信憑性を與えた後、後半部では儒敎的な立場から見た『伊勢物語』論を提示した。また、卷2の第2話「고者知三世」では、戰國時代の動亂の樣相について、『万松院殿穴太記』をもとにして記述することによって、後半部に配置した自分の創作した話が信憑性を持つようにしようとした意圖があったことを考察した。

In this paper, I considered how and what Hayashi Gitan used historic book in order to acquire credibility of fable or intention focusing “Tamakushige”. For example, the volume of 4 Episode 4 ‘Oonrinin’, Gitan presented in beginning part the “Mushamonogatarinosyo” that is widely read history book in Edo period in order to give credence to the story, and as seen from the perspective Confucian “Ise Monogatari”. In addition, the volume of 2 Episode 2 ‘The blind knew three generations’, about the aspects of the national upheaval of Sengok Period, for the describe on the basis of “Bansyouindono Anoki”, there was an intention of credibility in the Gitan``s original story.
