短歌は『万葉集』以來の傳統形式を今日まで受繼ぎ、日本的情緖を表現してきた民族の詩形として知られている。このようなジャンルの性格は、明治20年代のナショナリズムを背景に起こった國詩創出運動の過程で作り出されたものである。本稿では、このプロセスの中心にいた與謝野鐵幹の短歌革新に朝鮮という記號が關係する樣相を究明しようとした。最初の本格的な短歌革新論と言われる鐵幹の「亡國の音」が主張することは三つに要約することができる。最初に、陳腐で狹い和歌の美學に擴張が必要であること。第二に、女性性から脫皮して、男性的な歌に生まれ變わるべきであること。第三に、このような新しい詩を創り出すことが國の興亡に關わるということである。この主張が歌集『東西南北』で實踐されていく方法は、朝鮮を新しい「題」として採用することにより、和歌の世界觀を擴張し、朝鮮を舞台とした日本大丈夫の虛構のドラマを短歌の中で演出することであった。さらに、日本文學を移植して敎育すべき野만な朝鮮を設定して、日本的な文明觀に同化された朝鮮人象を造形することにより、自らを强大な文明國に想像していく言說を構築した。鐵幹の短歌革新における朝鮮は、新しい題材を發見し、男性的な自己劇化を實現する場所や方法であり、そして完成された國民詩歌を想像するためになくてはならない存在であったと言える。しかしこれは、擴張と同化という日本の植民地支配イデオロギ-をそのまま投影するという点で、强力なナショナリズムの磁場の中で行われた短歌革新の限界を示すことでもある。
Tanka, which is one of poetic forms that has kept its form after “Manyosyu”, is known as the best traditional verse to express the Japanese sentiment. This feature was created by the national poetry campaign influenced by the Nationalism in late 1880``s. This study investigates the relation between Tanka innovation by Yosano Tekan and the Chosun. Tekan’s work “Song to nation ruin” is evaluated as the first and representative work that showed Tanka innovation. It implies following three points; first, hackneyed and narrowed world of Waka needed to be widened, second, poetry needed to be more masculine escaping from femininity, third, the creation of newly innovated Tanka was the way to make stronger nation. His anthology “North, South, East and West” showed the extended Tanka style, which is the representation of the points above, by employing Chosun as new ‘Theme’. It also showed the Japanese man’s story in fictional drama of Chosun background. Moreover, Chosun was targeted as the uncivilized people to be enlightened through implanting Japanese literature. Thus, the discourse was established through creating the new character of Chosun people who was assimilated into Japanese view of civilization and imagined himself as the part of strong civilized nation. Tanka innovation by Tekan, Chosun was a solution to find new restriction and realize the masculine self-dramatization. It was also the necessary character to imagine the completed national poetry. However, there is a limitation of Tanka innovation, which was undertaken under the strong Nationalism, that it directly reflects the idea of extension and assimilation from the Japanese colony ruling ideology.
