이 연구는 스마트 교육이 정보통신기술 사회에 학생들의 적응력을 제고하고자 하면서도 학생들의 자기주도성과 주체적 학습력 또한 중요한 가치로 설정하고 있다는 점, 사회와 교육의 패러다임이 변화하여도 국어과교육은 항상적으로 언어와 의사소통을 다루는 교과라는 점에 주목하여 언어와 의사소통의 본질적 속성에서 국어과 교육과정이 나아가야 할 방향을 제안하고자 하였다. 인간의 인간됨은 언어와 의사소통에 있으며, 이 언어와 의사소통은 인간 존중과 협력이라는 윤리적 원리에 의하여 작동된다고 보고, 스마트 교육 시대 국어과교육은 이들 원리를 실현하는 방향으로 개선되어야 한다고 논의하였다. 국어과 교육과정의 목표는 언어와 언어로 존재하는 인간에 대한 이해와 언어와 의사소통의 윤리적 특성에 대한 인식을 포함해야 하고, 이를 실현하기 위하여 언어의 윤리적 인식과 협력적 소통 태도 함양을 위한 내용을 강화해야 하며, 교수·학습 방법 측면에서 교사가 학생을 의사소통 주체로 이해하고, 그들의 의사소통 의도가 기반이 되는 학습 상황을 구성할 것을 주장하였다.

This study intended to suggest the direction that the Korean language education curriculum should go forward to in the intrinsic attributes of language and communication paying attention to the aspects that SMART education not only enhance students` adaptability to the information and communication technology society but also set self-initiative and indepen-dent learning ability as important values, and regardless of changes in par-adigms of society and education, Korean language education is a course dealing with language and communication all the time. From the point of view where characteristics of human are in language and communication, and the language and communication work by the ethical principles such as respect for human life and cooperation, it is discussed that Korean lan-guage education in the era of SMART education should be reformed to the direction that the principles could be realized in. The goals of the Korean language education curriculum should in-clude understanding of language and human who exists as a language and awareness of ethical characteristics of language and communication, and in order to achieve them, the content for fostering ethical awareness of language and collaborative communication attitudes should be en-hanced. Moreover, in the aspects of teaching and learning methods, it is claimed that teachers should understand students as subjects of commu-nication and construct learning situations in that their intention to com-municate is a basis.
