The needs for temperature measurement of rotating bodies and condition monitoring of high-speed moving bodies has been increased recently. The evaluation of the performance of IR camera system is necessary for reliable temperature measurements and condition monitoring by using IR camera system. Therefore this study was conducted to develop the evaluation method of high-speed measurement performance of IR camera by using a rotating device called optical chopper with a rotating speed control capability. The performance of the high-speed IR camera with cooling system and bolometer type IR camera was investigated and compared. The proposed evaluation method provided a convenient and fast technique to evaluate the high-speed measurement performance of IR camera systems.
