본 연구에서는 심리내적인 틀인 초기부적응도식과 자기개념명료성을 함께 고려할 때 우울을 더 잘 예측할 수 있을 것으로 가정하였다. 이러한 가정에 기초하여 본 연구에서는 초기부적응도식과 우울과의 관계에서 자기개념명료성이 매개하는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 대학생 250명을 대상으로 초기부적응도식 척도, 자기개념명료성 척도 및 한국판 우울증상 질문지를 실시하였으며, 최종적으로 231명의 자료에 대하여 SPSS/WIN 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 위계적 중다회귀분석을 하였다. 연구 결과, 초기부적응도식이 우울에 미치는 영향에서 자기개념명료성이 부분 매개를 하는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 초기부적응도식의 하위요인 중 유기불안정과 우울의 관계에서 자기개념명료성이 완전 매개를 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 우울한 대학생들을 상담할 때, 우울의 원인으로 작용하는 주요 초기부적응도식을 찾아 상담해줄 뿐만 아니라 자기개념명료성을 높여주는 심리내적인 틀의 변화를 통해 심리적인 건강을 도와줄 수 있음을 시사한다.

This study assumed that depression would be better predicted when both early maladaptive schema and self-concept clarity are considered. Under such assumption, this study investigated whether or not self-concept clarity mediates the association between early maladaptive schema and depression. For this purpose, this study administered the early maladaptive schema scale, self-concept clarity scale and Korean-version of depressive symptom checklist to 231 undergraduate students and analyzed the data using hierarchical multiple regression. The results showed that self-concept clarity mediates the effect of early maladaptive schema on depression. In particular, self-concept clarity fully mediates the association between depression and the abandonment anxiety which is a sub-factor of early maladaptive schema. These results suggest that counseling with identification of major early maladaptive schema as the cause for the depression as well as the change in the intra-psychological frame such as enhancing self-concept clarity may help in psychological health in the counseling with the undergraduate students who complains depression.
