Hakushu Kitahara went for trip to Sakhalin, Hokkaido after the Great Kanto Earthquake and wrote the book of travel called "Frep Trip". In the book of travel, Ainu race was drawn, but has been criticized strictly by researchers from the situation of imperialism, the colonialism criticism. There is no room for the doubt about what white Hakusyu was carried on in the current of the times of the nationalism, and the point should be criticized enough. However, on the other hand, I think Hakusyu catch Ainu race for cultural relativism and draw it and may evaluate that he was able to stand in the situation that he is going to respect as others. It showed the possibility of the high quality cross-cultural experience that was different from racism and the colonialism in the character. Ironically, the poet Hakushu Kitahara gained valuable result in the book of travel than poetry in the poetic representation for the Ainu race.
