본 연구는 내현적 자기애와 심리적 부적응(우울, 불안)의 관계에서 내면화된 수치심과 부적응적 완벽주의, 지각된 사회적 지지의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울, 경기도 등 수도권에 소재한 대학교에 재학 또는 휴학 중인 남녀 대학생 379명이었으며, 측정 도구로는 내현적 자기애 척도(Covert Narcissism Scale: CNS), 내면화된 수치심 척도(Internalized Shame Scale: ISS), 다차원적 완벽주의 척도(Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale: MPS), 지각된 사회적 지지 척도, 간이정신진단검사(SCL 90-R)가 사용되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 주요 변인 간 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 내현적 자기애와 내면화된 수치심, 부적응적 완벽주의, 심리적 부적응은 정적 상관이 있었으며, 내현적 자기애와 지각된 사회적 지지는 부적 상관이 있었다. 둘째, 내현적 자기애와 심리적 부적응의 관계에서 내면화된 수치심은 완전매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 부적응적 완벽주의는 부분매개효과가 나타났다. 셋째, 내현적 자기애와 심리적 부적응의 관계에서 이중매개효과를 검증한 결과, 부적응적 완벽주의를 거쳐 내면화된 수치심으로 가는 경로가 유의하여 완전이중매개효과가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 넷째, 내현적 자기애와 심리적 부적응의 관계에서 지각된 사회적 지지의 매개효과는 나타나지 않았다. 위의 결과들을 바탕으로 연구의 의의와 제한점, 후속 연구를 위한 시사점에 대하여 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect of internalized shame, maladaptive perfectionism and perceived social support between covert narcissism and psychological maladjustment(depression and anxiety). The data from 379 undergraduate students are analyzed. And covert narcissism scale(CNS), internalized shame scale(ISS), multidimensional perfectionism scale(MPS), perceived social support scale and SCL- 90-R are used for measurement. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, covert narcissism showed statistically significant positive correlation with internalized shame, maladaptive perfectionism and psychological maladjustment. And perceived social support showed negative correlation with covert narcissism. Second, Internalized shame had complete mediating effect and maladaptive perfectionism had partial mediating effect between covert narcissism and psychological maladjustment. Third, internalized shame and maladaptive perfectionism and had complete dual mediating effect between covert narcissism and psychological maladjustment. However, perceived social support didn``t have mediating effect. Based on these results, the implications and limitations of this study were discussed with the suggestions for the further study.
