By focusing on the balance of payments in tourism for the last years, it was clear that government is not only seeking for strategic solutions to overcome its problem and the development of regional tourism destinations which have a differentiated attraction to compare with others but also the local government is trying to have a differentiated competitiveness to return the outbound tourists to their region. To deal with the situation in tourism field, the plans of mega-region tourism development was rapidly spreaded based on Hub-and-Spoke concept that was used in the airport field research. Therefore, the competitiveness evaluation about tourism destinations in Pusan region desperately needs. With the recognition of this problem, the main purpose of this study was to suggest the growth strategies of regional tourism destination as a hub having the differentiated competitiveness, and it is not only to reinforce the strong competitiveness but also to support the weak point through this analysis. To achieve this goal: (1) the tourism destination including 57 attractions were divided into four zones namely A, B, C and D. (2) The nine factors such as human resource, natural resource, tourism product, locality of tourism product, support of tourism product, facility, facility management, culture resource, complexity and accessibility were deduced from the combine both resource-based factors and accessibility factors which are a main concept of Hub-and-Spoke based on advanced research with literature review. The result of analysis revealed four major findings: (1) the average of competitiveness factors among 4 zones had a clear distinction. (2) B zone including Jagalchimarket, Nampodong attractions was proved as a hub destination that had the strongest competitiveness factors such as locality of tourism product, support of tourism product than other zones. Also, A zone including Headundea beach and Gwangalli beach was the second effective tourism destination in Pusan. However, A zone including Eulsuckdo-eocpark and Gamchen culture village and C zone including Seo-myeon area and Bumesa tamper had the low average in competitiveness. Therefore, due to this result, it will be an opportunity to develop the region tourism competitiveness by suggesting the dynamic strategies understanding the major power of each region in Pusan. Theoretical and managerial implications were discussed.
