本稿は三好達治(1900-1964)の詩に現れた動物の意味を硏究したものであ る。今回、分析の對象にした作品は『測量船』の「獅子」「村」「村」 「鹿」の四篇と『駱駝の瘤にまたがって』の「駱駝の瘤にまたがって」 「狼」「ちっぽけな象がやって來た」「驢馬」等八篇である。 まず、『測量船』の四篇を分析した結果、詩人は動物を借りて自己の存在 に對する悲しみや悲劇を描こうとする傾向が著しかった。「獅子」「鹿」な どは傷ついた存在の表出であった。それは、詩集『測量船』から感じられる 情緖と似ていた。 一方、彼の後期の詩集『駱駝の瘤にまたがって』では、諷刺と自己戱畵化 として表出された。「駱駝の瘤にまたがって」におけるラクダは、詩人自身 の生活と履歷を振り返る媒介としての役割を持ち、「狼」は敗戰後の‘力’と ‘權力’を持った人□に對する强い拒否感を明らかに云えていた。「ちっぽけな 象がやって來た」では、敗戰後の荒廢した日本の姿とは違って、一頭の象を 狂熱的に歡迎する人□の態度を批判した。それは詩集『駱駝の瘤にまたがっ て』の性格と一致していた。 このように、達治は『測量船』『駱駝の瘤にまたがって』の二つの詩集に 登場する動物を通じて、難しい時期を乘り越えてきた詩人の暗鬱な靑春と、 敗戰後の時代に生きていた詩人の靈魂を云えていた。

This paper offers a comprehensive analyses on the meaning of the usage of animals in the poetry of Miyosi Tatsuzi (三好達治, 1900-1964). In conducting this research, the poems "Surveying ship" (測量船, ``SOKURYOUSEN``) and "Get on a camel`s hump" (駱駝の瘤にまたがって ``RAKUDANOKOBUNIMATAGATTE``) are analysed. The contextual representations that can be seen in "Surveying ship" include: ``Lion and Village``, ``Village``, and ``Deer``. Whereas in the poem "Get on a camel`s hump", the contextual representations are as follows: ``Wolf``, ``a tiny elephant came``, and ``a donkey``. As a result of analyzing these two poems, the conclusion can be drawn that in "Surveying ship", the poet tends to draw upon his own sadness and tragedy, stemming from his own existence, through the use of these animals. The animals express a sense of having been wounded within the poem. And it is this character, of having experienced hurt, that is held within the poem. On the other hand, Miyosi Tatsuzi``s later poem "Get on a camel``s hump", takes on the expression of satire and self-characterization.
