그동안 한국문화를 바탕으로 한 상담모형이 제안되었으나 한국인의 특성에 대한 실증연구가 부족하여 한계점이 있었다. 본 연구에서는 한국인의 특성 가운데 하나인 눈치가 대인관계와 안녕감에 다르게 영향을 미치는 지 알아보았다. 이를 위해 대학생 367명(남학생 186명, 여학생 180명)에게서 얻은 자료를 분석하였다. 그 결과 눈치는 대인관계와 안녕감에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 집단주의 성향이 낮고 개인주의 성향이 높은 집단을 제외한 나머지 집단에서는 파악요인이 높을수록 대인관계 수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 인지측면의 안녕감에서는 눈치의 하위요인 가운데 파악요인이 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있었고 정서측면의 안녕감에서는 파악요인과 행동요인 이 모두 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있었다. 이 결과는 눈치가 한국사회에서 대인관계에 매우 중요한 특성이고 상담에 적극 활용할 가치가 있음을 시사하는 것이다. 이러한 본 연구의 결과에 대해 논의 하였다.

Several counseling models, based on Korean culture, has been proposed. However, these models have limitations because of the lack of the research of the characteristics of Korean. This study aimed to investigate whether nunchi differently affected subjective wellbeing(SWB) and interpersonal relationship(IR), depending on cultural orientations. Data was collected from 367 college students(male 186, female 180). Results revealed that nunchi had effects on SWB and IR significantly. Perception, one of the subscales of nunchi, was positively related with the IR in groups except the group with low collectivism and high individualism. Perception, one of the subscales of nunchi, affected cognitive SWB significantly, however, perception and identification, the subscale of nunchi, had effects on emotional SWB. The results of this study suggested that nunchi was one of the important factor in IR, being worthy of being utilized in counseling. Results were discussed.
