상담의 영역과 대상이 확대되고 상담에 대한 관심이 높아가는 만큼 현장에서는 상담이 어떤 효과를 내는지에 대한 정보를 제공하라는 압력이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 상담의 성과를 평가하는 방법 중의 하나인 신뢰할 수 있고 임상적으로 의의있는 변화(Reliable and Clinically Significant Change, RCSC) 지수를 국내 실제 상담사례에 적용하여 활용가능성을 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 연구에 동의한 대학상 담센터 및 기업체 상담실을 자발적으로 방문한 내담자를 대상으로 상담의 사전과 사후에 핵심 상담 성과도구(CORE-OM)를 사용하여 내담자의 변화를 측정하였다. 다음으로 핵심 상담성과도구의 사전, 사후 점수를 가지고 신뢰할 수 있고 임상적으로 의의있는 변화 지수를 계산하였다. 마지막으로 핵 심 상담성과도구를 사용하여 신뢰할 수 있고 임상적으로 의의있는 변화 지수를 기초로 현장에서 상 담을 평가할 때의 유의점 및 제한점을 논의하였다.

As the needs and interests of counseling grows, an acceptable and standardized brief outcome measure to assess an efficacy and effectiveness of counseling is critical. The present study explored the applicability of the Reliable and Clinically Significant Change(RCSC) in several Korean counseling settings. Using pre and post-test the CORE-OM(Clinical Outcomes in Routine Evaluation-Outcome Measure), we measured changes in voluntary clients visiting to workplace counseling centers and university counseling centers. RCSC was calculated with pre and post data using CORE-OM. Results are discussed in terms of evaluating counseling based on RCSC derived from CORE-OM.
