이 연구의 목적은 국어교육 연구자를 대상으로 국어교육 양적 연구방법론에 대한 인식을 알아보고, 그것을 토대로 국어교육 양적 연구방법론과 관련된 교육과정을 개선하는 데 필요한 구체적인 방안을 제시하는 데 있다. 이를 위해, 최근에 국어교육 프로그램의 박사과정을 마쳤거나 현재 공부하고 있는 37명의 국어교육 연구자가 참여하였으며, 자료는 17문항으로 구성된 <국어교육 양적 연구방법론에 대한 인식> 설문지를 사용하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면, 설문에 응답한 국어교육 연구자는 국어교육 현상을 연구하는 데 양적 연구방법론에 대한 지식이 매우 필요하다고 인식하고 있었다. 하지만 응답자는 국어교육 프로그램이 양적 연구방법론에 대한 강좌를 충분히 제공하고 있지 않고, 이로 인해 양적 연구방법을 사용한 논문을 이해하고 연구를 수행하는 데 어려움을 경험하고 있다고 응답했다. 응답자의 과반수가 국어교육 양적 연구방법론 필수 이수 학점으로 3~6학점이 적당하다고 생각하였다. 독립적인 모국어 교육 연구자가 되기 위해서는 모국어 교육 현상을 연구하는 데 필요한 양적 연구방법론에 대한 지식을 갖추고 있어야 한다. 이를 위해, 국어교육 석.박사과정 프로그램은 양적 연구방법론과 관련된 교육과정을 개선할 필요가 있다.

The purpose of this survey study was to examine researchers` recognition of research methodology, especially quantitative research methods for Korean education and to provide some useful ideas necessary for rebuilding research-method related curriculum for the researchers in the area of Korean education. For this study, 37 researchers from universities in Seoul were participated. In order to collect data, was used. Results from the study documented as follows. First, the 37 researcher thought that knowledge of quantitative research methods for Korean education is necessary. Second, their doctoral programs did not provide sufficient classes related to quantitative research methods. Thus they experienced some difficulties in understanding related research works and in doing research using quantitative research methods. Finally, they thought that 3~6 credit hours for quantitative research methods in the area of Korean education should be required. For Korean education researchers to become independent researchers, curriculum related to quantitative research methodology should be restructured.
