최근 연구들이 청소년 개인, 가족배경과 청소년 범죄와의 연관성을 탐색해온 반면에 최초 범죄 유발 연령과 양육기술의 매개효과에 대하여는 연구가 거의 이루어지지 않은 측면이 있다. 본 연구는 선행연구 분석을 통하여 기존연구를 확장, 청소년의 개별 특성과 함께 최초 범죄유발연령 및 양육기술의 매개효과를 검증하기를 시도하였다. 연구결과, 성별과 가족의 경제적 상태가 청소년의 범죄행위에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 추가적으로 최초 범죄 유발연령과 부모양육에 대한 청소년의 인식수준 또한 범죄행위를 매개하는 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 청소년의 범죄 유발을 최소화하기 위하여 청소년의 개별 가족특성을 고려한 예방 전략과 더불어 부모양육기술향상을 도모하는 초기개입 노력이 효과적이라는 사실을 보여준다.

Although recent studies explored the relationship between individual and familial characteristics and offending among youths, little effort has been made at the mediating effects of offending onset age and parenting on adolescent offending behaviors. Expanding previous research, this study examined the roles of onset age of offending and parenting skills on juvenile offences, independent of individual and familial characteristics. Results indicate that gender and financial difficulty contribute to the outcome of offending behaviors among youths. Results also indicated that onset age of offending and parenting are related to the development of offending behaviors among youths. Findings suggest that to reduce the risks of involvement in offending behaviors, early intervention effort with facilitating parenting skills should be addressed, in addition to prevention strategies targeting considering individual and familial characteristics.
