It is well recognized of importance of Native Language Awareness(henceforth NLA), however, its concept and status are not sufficiently positioned in the Korean Language Curriculum. The source of ambiguity and obscurity of NLA stems from view of language and grammatical knowledge. And it should not be neglected of levels of grammar instruction. In this paper, they have been addressed firstly. After discussing of these, it has been revealed that NLA is composed of elements, as following; interest and regard, positivity and sensitivity, and reflective thinking. It is requisite for survey which identify construct of NLA of students from elementary school to high school for further study.
