본 논문은 한국 관리직 출신자의 ‘회사’ 경영, 특히 인맥이 경영의 각 측면에 작용하는 모습에 대해 인터뷰를 통하여 고찰할 것을 목적으로 한다. IMF 위기 직전부터 2010년까지 대기업을 퇴직한 관리직 출신자를 대상으로 한 인터뷰 결과, ‘회사’ 경영에 있어서 가장 중요한 과정인 자금조달에 있어서 다양한 사회자본이 작용하고 있었다. 본 사례에서는 은행 대출은 물론이고 가족이나 창업 멤버인 전 직장 후배, 혹은 명문고 동창들로부터 동원된 각종 사회자본의 모습을 관찰할 수 있었다. 이 사회자본들을 활용하지 않으면 창업은 물론, ‘회사’를 유지, 확대하는 것도 어려웠다고 생각된다. 더구나 그들의 경영 스타일은 자산운용을 위해 창업하는 실리주의와 사회적 지위 확보를 위해 창업하는 신분주의로 양립되고 있었으며, 이들을 창업 과정에서 실현하기 위해 그들은 자신이 소유하는 사회자본을 역할기대 및 규범에 맞게 각각 활용하고 있었다. 즉, 관리직 출신자에 있어서 ‘회사’ 경영이란 이득만 얻으면 되는 것이 아니라 자기가 속하는 계층이나 사회적 지위에 적합해야 한다는 인식 하에 양질의 관계성을 활용하는 경영 방식을 추구하고 있었다. 이리하여 기존의 자영업 층에 대한 낮은 직업 위신과 ‘차별성’을 두려는 모습을 볼 수 있었다.

This article is written about the management style by the result of interview for Korean white-color established the “company”. From the IMF crisis to 2010`s, many Korean white-color retired the Chaebol have used their social capital to gain resources in the most important management process. I confirm of the bank advances and the social capitals such as white-color`s family or their friend`s help, support from their high school alumna on this interview. If they didn`t make good use of the social capital, it might be impossible to establish the “company” and sustain, grow its management. And also their management style is both utilitarianism to want asset management and classist to pursuit the social status, so to be realized in the management process, they use their own social capital according to the role expectation and moral standard. The management style of white-color must be not only benefit but also suitable their assigned class or social status. This is the reason why they enthusiastically build the good human relationship with others. And under their common consensus, they want to distinct the group from the low job prestige of self-employment.
