이 논문은 1920년대 후반 카프 대중화 운동을 사회주의 지식문화의 관점에서 새롭게 검토하는 것이다. 이를 위해 1920년대 후반 잡지 『조선지광』과 『조선문예』를 경유하고자 했다. 『조선지광』은 1927년 무렵부터 ‘대중’에 대한 인식을 본격적으로 드러내며 <사회과학강좌> <자유대학강좌>를 기획했다. 이러한 강좌를 통해 인간 정신(영혼)의 물질적 성격에 대한 학술적 견해들이 제출되었다. 1928년 하반기로 접어들며 『조선지광』은 대중적ㆍ통속적 노력에 대한 의지를 더욱 강하게 표명하기 시작한다. 이 무렵부터『조선지광』에는 영화, 연극에 대한 기사들이 등장하기 시작한다. 1929년 5월 창간된『조선문예』에는 『조선지광』이 보여 준 ‘학술’과 ‘문화’에 대한 중첩된 관심이 문화(문예)로 수렴되어 나타난다. 1920년대 후반 급변하는 정치현실 속에서 프로문인들은 집단 창작과 서구의 문화양식과 문예사조에 높은 관심을 보였다. 비록 이들의 지향은 현실적 조건 앞에 성공하기 어려운 것이었지만, 대중화에 대한 관심과 그 조건에 대한 천착은 1930년대 사회주의 매체지형과 카프의 실천에 큰 영향을 미쳤다.

This paper reviews the KAPF popularization movement in the late1920s with a veiwpoint of a knowledge culture stemmed from socialism. For this, two magazines in the late 1920s, 『Jo-Seon-Ji-Gwang』 and 『Jo-Seon-Mun-Ye』were investigated. 『Jo-Seon-Ji-Gwang』 designed and , recognizing ‘the public’ from 1927. Through these lectures academic opinions on a material aspect of human mind (spirit) were explored. 『Jo-Seon-Ji-Gwang』 strongly expressed their willingness of the popular/common efforts from 1928. And then the articles about a movie and play appeared in 『Jo-Seon-Ji-Gwang』. The overlapped interests between ‘scholarship’ and ‘culture’ represented in 『Jo-Seon-Ji-Gwang』 converged into culture (literature) in published 『Jo-Seon-Mun-Ye』 in May, 1929. The proletarian writes were very interested in collective writing, the Western cultural styles and literature trends in the late 1920 when politics dramatically changed. Although their aims were difficult to be completed because of the realistic conditions, the interests in popularization and the investigation of the conditions had a huge impact on the socialism trends and the practice of KAPF in the 1930s.
