이 연구는 필자의 쓰기 수준에 따른 유형별 텍스트의 화제 구조 특성을 규명하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해, Lautamatti(1978)의 방법을 수정한 이윤빈(2013)의 화제 구조 분석(TSA) 방법을 사용하여 전문 필자, 상위 수준 대학생 필자, 하위 수준 대학생 필자 집단이 작성한 정보전달적·설득적·정서표현적 텍스트의 화제 구조를 분석하여 그 특성을 고찰했다. 연구 결과, 필자의 쓰기 수준에 따라 특정한 의사소통 목적을 달성하기 위해 텍스트의 문장 화제들을 진행하는 방식에 차이가 있다는 사실이 확인되었다. 정보전달적·설득적 텍스트의 경우, 필자의 쓰기 수준과 텍스트에 나타난 특정 화제 진행 유형의 비율이 단계적으로 비례 또는 반비례하는 양상이 나타났다. 정서표현적 텍스트에서는 필자의 쓰기 수준과 화제 구조가 명확한 상관관계를 보이지 않았으나, 전문 필자 집단과 학생 집단(상·하위)의 문체적 특성으로 인한 화제 구조 차이가 발생했다. 이 연구는 필자의 쓰기 수준에 따라 유형별 텍스트의 화제 구조가 다르게 나타난다는 사실을 실증적 자료에 근거하여 밝혔다는 의의를 갖는다. 또한 이 연구에서 사용한 화제 구조 분석 방법은 텍스트의 질적 특성을 밝히는 분석 도구이자, 학생들의 쓰기 및 수정 과정을 도울 수 있는 교육적 도구로 활용될 수 있다.

This study aims to determine topical structure characteristic of types of text by writer’s level of writing. For this, topical structure of informative, persuasive, expressive text written by professional writer, high level college student writer, low level college student writer group using a new topical structure analysis method. Upon investigation, there is a difference in method of proceeding sentence topics of text to achieve certain communication purpose by writer’s level of writing. In case of informative, persuasive text, writer’s level of writing and the ratio of certain topical progression type in text were directly or inversely proportionate step by step. In expressive text, text structure difference by the stylistic traits of professional writer group and student group occurred. This study is significant in that it revealed the fact that text structure of text vary by writer’s level of writing based on positive data. Moreover, text structure analysis method used in this study is an analysis tool revealing qualitative characteristics of text, and can be used as an educational tool that can help writing and revising process of students.
