본 연구는 대학생의 문제음주를 이해하기 위하여 충동성, 음주동기, 예방행동전략이 문제음주에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고 음주동기와 예방행동전략의 매개효과를 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 통해 충동성이 높은 대학생들이 어떤 과정을 통해 문제음주를 경험하게 되는지 알아보고 이들의 문제음주 예방을 위해서는 어떤 개입이 필요한지 모색하고자 하였다. 연구대상자는 대학생 213명이었고 모형검증은 구조방정식 모형검증 방식을 사용하였다. 모형검증 결과, 모형은 자료에 잘 맞는 것으로 나타났고 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 충동성과 예방행동전략의 경로와 충동성과 문제음주 간의 경로를 제외한 모든 경로가 유의하였다. 둘째, 매개효과의 유의성을 검증한 결과 충동성과 예방행동전략, 음주동기와 문제음주, 충동성과 문제음주 간의 매개효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 충동성이 높은 대학생들의 문제음주를 상담할 때 이들의 음주동기를 검토하고 예방행동전략을 훈련키기는 것이 도움이 될 수 있음을 보여준다.

This study was designed to understand the drinking in college student. We investigated the influence of impulsivity, drinking motive and protective behavioral strategies on problem drinking, and also identified the mediator effect of drinking motive and protective behavioral strategies. Through the research, we looked into the process of highly impulsive students` experience of problem drinking and searched the intervention method to prevent their problem drinking. 213 students were recruited for this study, and structural equating model was used for verification. As the result of verification, the model was fit to the data, and major conclusions were listed below. First, the result indicated all paths were statistically significant except the path between impulsivity and protective behavioral strategies, and the path between impulsivity and problem drinking. Second, after testing the significance of each mediator effect, the mediating effect between impulsivity and protective behavioral strategies, drinking motive and problem drinking, and impulsivity and problem drinking were confirmed. This result showed that in counseling session with highly impulsive students, reviewing their drinking motive and training them protective behavioral strategies could be helpful.
