본 연구의 목적은 코리안 아메리칸 2세들의 소외문제를 종교적 관점에서 논하고, 그들의 소외를 효과적으로 치유하기 위한 선교적 제안을 하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 미국의 종교 다원성과 한인 2세들의 종교적 갈등과 한인 이민교회와 2세들의 현실적 과제를 바탕으로 발생되는 소외를 살펴보았다. 한인 2세들은 한인 이민 사회의 중심 커뮤니티인 이민교회와 미국의 공민종교와 한국의 전통적 종교에서 갈등 상황에 놓여 소외되고 있다. 또한 그들의 일상적인 삶에서 인격 부재의 인터넷 ID와의 만남을 즐기고, 생명 없는 언어를 사용하며, 성(性) 문제와 인간소외의 고통에 적응되어 가고 있는 현실이다. 그러므로 2세들의 소외 문제는 이민사회의 핵심적 인 문제이자 이민교회가 해결해야 할 우선순위이므로 공동의 노력이 필요하다. 본 연구를 통하여 2세들이 소외를 치유하기 위한 선교적 제안은 다음과 같다. 첫째로 한인 교회의 교인은 물론 목회자가 2세들이 교회의 주체라는 인식의 전환이 필요하다. 둘째로 부모가 영어능력과 미국문화에 적응하려는 노력과 이를 위한 교육 기회를 시도함으로써 2세들의 문화를 이해할 수 있는 영역을 넓힘으로 2세의 소외를 예방하도록 해야 한다. 셋째로 현재 한인교회의 목회 구조를 2세들이 자율적으로 정착할 수 있도록 변화될 필요가 있다. 넷째로 2세들의 소외를 극복하기 위하여 생태적 프로그램을 통한 선교적 접근이 필 요하다. 다섯째로 소외 극복을 위한 네트워크의 구축이다. 2세들을 향한 단순한 관심의 형태가 아닌 통합적인 형태 곧 이민교회와 관련된 모든 조직체가 참여하는 협력시스템을 구 축해야 한다. 여섯째로 2세들의 소외극복을 위한 전문적 인력을 육성하고 대안을 지속적으로 개발해야 한다. 마지막으로 2세들의 또 다른 생활공간인 사이버스페이스를 적극 활용해야 한다.

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the issue of isolation in the second generation from a religious point of view and propose a missional healing process. For this study, I examined the immigrant church and its isolated second generation and also, the pluralistic religiosity of the American religion and the religious conflict in the second generation of America. The second generation individual is isolated within the Korean-American church community, the American civil religion, and the traditional Korean customs. In addition, isolation manifests in everyday life through online identity, language, sex culture, and adaptation of the individual isolation. Therefore, the isolation of the second generation individual is a major concern for the immigrant society and the immigrant church needs to make a joint effort to prioritize this issue. Through this paper, I will propose missional approaches to the second generation individual’s isolation. The first is for the Korean immigrant church congregation to make the second generation understand that they are a core part of the church. Second is for the Korean immigrant church to make the ministry leadership structure open for the second generation to enter. Third is to develop ecological programs for the second generation to overcome its isolation. Fourth is to construct a network that will act as an integrated support group using a cooperation system. Fifth is to develop a sustainable alternative method for the second generation by enlisting professionals. Finally, the sixth is to activate cyber life for a positive influence in offline life.
