청소년 욕설 사용 실태를 조사하는 방법은 대부분 학생들 스스로 보고하게 하는 설문지법이어서 욕설 사용 실태를 심층적으로 파악하는데 한계가 있었다. 이 연구에서는 욕설 자극에 대한 반응을 자율신경계 자극을 통해 측정하는 방법을 시도하였다. 욕설을 정신적 폭행의 개념으로 규정하기 위해서는 욕설 자극이 인체에 피해를 줄 수 있음을 보여줄 수 있는 가시적인 결과를 제시해야 한다. 이 연구는 남자고등학생을 대상으로 욕설 자극을 들려준 후 근전도 검사기를 통해 측정한 피부 전기 전도도를 분석하고 정리하였다. 이 결과물은 언어폭력지수 개발 및 언어폭력 예방 교육의 자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다. 이 연구는 욕설 자극을 활용한 자극 반응 실험을 통해 언어폭력도 물리적 폭력과 마찬가지로 신체에 피해를 줄 수 있음을 뒷받침할 수 있는 구체적인 근거를 확보하였다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

The method for investigating the reality of adolescents’ swear-word usage had a lack on grasping the actual reality of swear-word usage in-depth as it was mostly managed as surveys based on questionnaires having the students marking the fields on-their-own. In this study, it presented the method of measuring the reaction on the swear-word-stimulation through the stimulation on the autonomic nervous system. In order to define swear-word as a violence, the tangible outcome should be presented that shows the swear-word stimulation can damage the human body. This study analyzed & organized the outcome of having the male high school students as a target who have the habitual usage of swear-word listening to the swear-word stimulation with the data being measured through Skin Electromyogram at the same time. This outcome can might be used as a material for an education for swear word problem and the development of verbal violence scale-rate. This study is meaningful for obtaining the specific proofs supporting that the verbal violence can also cause a physical damage as well as physical violence through the experiment for the reactions on the swear-word stimulation.
