この論文は田村俊子の論說を通して彼女の思想を調べるのを目的とした。まず、「日本婦人運動の流れを觀る」ではカナダの女性運動との比較を通して女性開放運動が參政權の獲得を最初の段階に置きながらも女性勞動者を中心にした女性勞動運動でなければならないことを强く主張している。これは當時、母性保護論爭の中心に立っていた山川菊榮の結論に全的に同義したことだと考えられる。山川菊榮は女性解放は、資本主義の經濟體制の中では不可能であり、經濟體制の變革だけが實現出來る方法であると主張したわけである。當時、社會主義に傾倒されていた田村俊子は山川菊榮の社會主義女性解放論に强い印象をうけたと思われるが、二番目の夫である鈴木悅の影響も-助したと思われる。田村俊子は「新しき母性敎育とは？」で生物學的な次元での女性の敎育を論じているわけではない。「女性」敎育は男性と同等な條件で知性敎育を受けなければならないという趣旨での田村俊子の主張は當時の男性のための女性敎育、子女のための女性敎育に離れていたからである。俊子は眞正な「女性解放」の實踐事項として男性との同等な知性敎育が優先するべきだと主張することで、「家庭敎育」に女性敎育の目標をおいた敎育審議會の決定に積極的な抗議を表現したのである。この二つの論說により、田村俊子は「女性解放」を超える「人間解放」の思想にもっと近づいたことが分かったのである。田村俊子は根本的に女性が-人の國民として、-人の個人として男性と同等に敎育を受けなければならないことを積極的に論議の場で呼び入れたのである。彼女の小說に貫通するメッセ-ジが論說にも再び別の語法で周圍を喚起させたことで彼女の書くことが注目される。また、田村俊子の論說だけではなく、カナダ以後の色んなジャンルの書くことを積極的に檢討するのは、これからの田村俊子硏究の多樣性を確保する面で以後の田村俊子硏究の課題になると思われる。
