이 연구에서는 전남과 전북의 지역경제 성장과 지방재정의 동태적 인과관계를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 전남은 생산함수 측면에서 투자적지출이 상대적으로 효율적 모습을 보였지만, 지역공공재 수요 측면에서는 효율성이 저하되고 있었다. 반면 전북은 생산함수 측면에서는 투자적지출의 효율성이 낮았지만, 지역공공재 수요 측면에서는 상대적으로 효율적인 모습을 보이고 있었다.

This study analyzes the efficiency of local public investment expenditure at Jeonnam Province and Jeonbuk Province in South Korea. Application of the Granger causality test based on VAR analysis of various time series variables suggests a significant Keynesian model which local public investment expenditure leads the growth of G.R.D.P. in Jeonnam Province. On the other hand, the demand of local public service(local public investment expenditure) is relatively efficient in Jeonbuk Province.
