이론과 실증분석 두 측면에서 선행연구 결과를 살펴본 뒤, OECD 25개 회원국(1990~2012년)에서 최저임금의 고용효과를 추정했다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. ‘국가별 이질성을 통제한 상태에서 OECD 회원국에서 최저임금의 고용효과를 분석하면, 최저임금 인상이 전체 고용과 여성 고용, 고령자 고용에 미친 부정적 영향은 발견되지 않는다. 그러나 청년 고용에 미친 영향은 분석모형에 따라 유의도가 엇갈려 뚜렷한 결론을 도출할 수 없었다.’
I looked into the results of preceding research and estimated the employment effect of minimum wages among 25 OECD member countries between 1990 and 2012. The analysis results are as follows, “the negative effect of minimum wages on total employment, women employment and aging senior employment is not found. But, as the effect on youth employment missed each other, depending on analysis model, I failed to draw any definite conclusion.”
