이 논문은 교육현장의 실제 보고를 경청하고, 교과서 내에 편재되어 있는 학습요소에 대한 분석을 바탕으로 중등학교 경전교수 학습에 대해 검토한 것이다. 예비교사들의 교생실습 보고서와 현장수업 참관기는 두 가지 분명한 사실을 알려준다. 경전교수에 있어서 학습목표와 학습내용이 학생들에게 전달 학습되지 못하고 있다는 것과 경전교수의 영역은 전통적 지식의 전달이 아닌 현재 문제의식을 바탕으로 한 수업이 더욱 학생참여와 수업목표 달성에 효과적이라는 것이다. 고등학교 한문교과서의 경전교수 단원의 학습소재와 요소를 분석한 결과 역시 두가지 정도의 고민거리를 남겨둔다. 경전교수의 주제에 대한 깊이있는 성찰이 필요하고, 주제와 연관하여 일관된 학습요소의 배치가 여전히 중요하다는 것이다. 주제를 벗어난 학습요소의 분산된 배치는 경전교수 단원의 목표를 희석하는 결과가 초래되기 때문이다. 중국의 부상과 경전교육에 대한 관심의 증대는 동아시아 문화권의 신장과 더불어 한문교육에서 경전교육의 중요성을 증대시키는 것이다.

This thesis reviewed about teaching scriptures at middle and high schools based on the analysis of learning elements distributed in text- books and actual reports from classrooms. Teaching practice reports of future teachers and opinions about classroom teaching show two certain facts. It is that the target and con- tents of teaching scriptures are not understood by students and that the class based on the critical mind about reality is more effective in achieving the target of class and drawing participation of students than the class based on delivering traditional knowledge in teaching scriptures. The outcomes of analysis on the learning subjects and elements in the chapters for teaching scriptures of Chinese character textbooks suggest about two issues. It is that profound examination about the subjects of teaching scriptures is essential and that consistent display of learning elements relevant to subjects is still important because dispersed display of learning elements irrelevant to subjects obscures the target of chapters for teaching scriptures. Rise of China and increase of the interests in teaching scriptures heighten the importance of teaching scriptures in Chinese character education along with the extension of East Asian cultural blocs.
