본 논문은 좋은 원작의 만화나 웹툰이 흥행에 그다지 성공을 거두지 못하고 있는 상황에서 웹툰의 영화화 중 최고의 흥행 스코어를 기록한 <은밀하게 위대하게>가 어떤 시각적 구성요소를 통해 영화관객을 매료시켰는지, 즉 웹툰과 영화에서 표현되는 시각적 텍스트 분석을 통해 이미지의 유사성을 검토하고자 한다. 이러한 논의는 우선적으로 웹툰과 영화의 싱크로율, 즉이미지의 유사성에서 기인한 흥행성과의 의미를 도출하고자 한다. 또한 오늘날 웹툰의 영화화가 활성화되고 있는 시점에 그간 흥행의 부침을 겪은 웹툰의 영화화가 일시적인 유행이 아니라 지속가능한지에 대한 물음에 답을 구하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 원작 웹툰과 영화화된 <은밀하게 위대하게>의 시각적 구성요소를 비교 분석하여 매체변형에 대한 의미와 가치 그리고 중요성을 제시하고자 한다. 주로 웹툰의 시각적 구성요소와 영화적 요소의 표현형식이 일치하고 있는 장면연출과 칸과 칸의 전환, 그리고 색채와 톤을 위주로 하여 분석할 것이다. 구체적인 구성요소는 화면의 크기, 움직임, 색상과 톤, 배경과 상황, 공간구도와 심도, 콘트라스트, 표현방식과 배열방식으로 텍스트를 나누어 웹툰과 영화의 시각적 표현 방식을 상호 비교한다.

This study will examine the visual composition by which Secretly Greatly, in a circumstance that even the good original Manhwas or Webtoon have not made a hit on the market until now, could attract the spectator, in other word, illustrate the analogousness of the images through analysing visual texts. The study draw, first of all, a meaning of the box office performance caused by analogousness of image, that is similarity between the webtoon andfilm. In addition, the study will come up with an answer to the question that the webtoon, not in a temporary trend but in a sustainable form, can make itself develop. For this, the study suggests a meaning, worth and importance of the transformation, analysing visual components of a webtoon to film adaptation, Secretly Greatly. It primarily ranges over visual components, mise-en-scene identified with its expression formula, frame to frame changes and colour and tone. The examination sets thecinema’s visual expression manner against the webtoon’s on their concrete components: the size of scene, movement, color and tone, narrative condition and its background, spatial composition and depth, contrast, expression manner and disposition manner.
