본 연구는 사이버폭력 현상에서 가해자가 인터넷 게시글에 댓글을 달 때 공감능력에 따라 공격적인 정도가 달라지는지 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 인터넷 게시글에 댓글을 달 수 있는 가상의 상황을 설정하고, 87명의 참여자들을 모집하였다. 참여자들은 사전에 공감능력을 측정하는 설문을 작성한 뒤에, 세 가지의 인터넷 게시글을 읽고, 제시된 유사 댓글을 보고 자신이 그러한 댓글을 쓸 가능성이 얼마나 있는지를 체크하였다. 분석을 실시한 결과, 공감능력에 따른 그룹 간 차이 분석에서는 ‘공격성 상’의 댓글을 달 가능성과 ‘공격성 중’의 댓글을 달 가능성에서 집단 간 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 즉, ‘공감능력 상’ 집단과 ‘공감능력 중’ 집단보다 ‘공감능력 하’ 집단이 ‘공격성 상’ 댓글과 ‘공격성 중’ 댓글을 작성할 가능성이 더 많은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 공감능력 하위 요인들이 가해 수준에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과 인지적 공감이 ‘공격성 상’ 과 ‘공격성 중’ 수준의 댓글을 작성하는데 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다.

The purpose of this study was to examine how aggression level changes according to cyberbully``s empathy ability when writing replies on internet boards. For the purpose, virtual situation to write replies was made on online board and 87 university students were participated in the experiment. After they completed surveys to assess empathy ability and read three internet articles, they selected how much they are likely to write each reply after they read similar replies. As a result, there were differences between empathy level groups in possibilities for high aggression reply and middle aggression reply. Participants in low empathy level group were more likely to write aggressive replies than participants in high or middle empathy level group. Then, it was analyzed effects of empathy subscales on cyberbullying. Cognitive empathy have an influence on high aggression reply and middle aggression reply.
