본 연구는 토착심리학적 관점에서 우리문화만의 특수한 성취목표의 개념구조를 밝히고, 이 개념구조에 따른 성취목표 척도를 개발하여 타당화하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 한국형 성취목표의 구조를 탐색하기 위해 선행 연구 분석 및 사회문화적 특성분석을 통해 개념적 모델을 설정하고 153명의 대학생을 대상으로 학습의 목적을 자유롭게 진술하게 한 결과를 바탕으로 사회적 지위, 숙달목표, 수행목표, 인격도야 및 성찰, 효, 사회적 기여 등 총 6개 요인 30개 문항의 성취목표 척도를 개발하였다. 1학년부터 4학년의 대학생 298명이 응답한 설문지가 분석에 활용되었다. 이 중 107명은 탐색집단으로 설정하고 이 집단의 자료를 가지고 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하여 성취목표의 요인구조를 밝히고 문항을 선별하여 최종적으로 22개의 문항으로 이루어진 5개 요인을 추출하였다. 성취목표의 5요인 구조 모형과 척도의 타당도를 확인하기 위하여 191명의 교차집단으로부터 자료를 수집하여 확인적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 이에 더해 개발된 척도의 공인타당도를 측정하기 위하여 선정된 준거척도들과 상관분석을 실시하였다. 탐색적 요인분석결과 5요인 구조의 성취목표모델은 적합한 것으로 판명되어 타당성이 확인되었으며, 개발된 척도와 준거척도의 상관은 ‘사회적 기여’ 척도를 제외한 ‘자신과 부모를 위한 사회적 지위 추구’, ‘수행목표’, ‘숙달목표’, ‘인격도야 및 성찰’ 등 4가지 척도들의 상관은 .4 이상으로 나타나 공인타당도가 입증되었다. ‘자신과 부모를 위한 사회적 지위 추구’ 척도의 평균이 개발된 척도들 중 가장 높게 나타나 사회적 지위추구를 통해 부모에게 보답하고자 하는 경향을 확인할 수 있었다. 논문결과를 토대로 사회적 기여와 같은 사회적 목표 척도에 다양한 측면에 대한 확장된 연구의 필요성과 함께 여러 논의를 진행하였다.

This study aims to outline the construction and validation of the Korean achievement goals. In line with the aim, the study attempted to construct the framework of culture-specific achievement goals on the basis of indigenous psychological approach and conceptualize the goal structure in two categories: individual and social goals. Goals associated with social status, mastery, performance, moral growth and introspection, and social approval goals were affiliated to the individual goal category. Filial pity and social contribution belonged to the social goal. After that, the researcher collected responses from 153 college students in regard to why they were studying. The researcher developed a scale of Korean achievement goals consisting of 30 items according to the goal framework and the students’ responses, and this scale was compared to reference scales for the validation. With 298 college students a survey was conducted with the scale developed above. Through an exploratory factor analysis, five categories, which are Pursuit of social status for oneself and parents, performance, mastery, social contribution, and moral growth and introspection, were extracted from 22 items out of 30. In order to verify the five category scale, a confirmatory factor analysis was employed, from which the scale was proven to be valid. Except for one subscale, social contribution, the scale was validated based on the comparison to reference scales.
