在異體字中偏旁是由原偏旁轉變爲其他形態而成的，且此形態大部分不能獨立成爲文字。其中變化後的形態固定的，該類型異體字的制成병不僅使用最基本的筆劃增加或省略的方法，還有使用筆劃變形合병的方法。병且筆劃變形存在水平或수直形態的直線變爲斜線形態或與之相反，以及方形變爲三角形形態的。還有壹個特別的現象是，在此變形過程中，卽有筆劃的省略，也有在與之相反的筆劃的增加，但是雖然有筆劃的合병，却不存在與之相反的由筆劃分離而成的情況。
