한국 대중문화의 인기를 뜻하는 ‘한류’가 중국에 정착하게 된 배경 연구에 대해서는 한국문화의 우수성에 초점을 맞춰 기술되고 있는 경향이 있다.한류의 중국 내 성공의 배경을 공급자인 한류의 콘텐츠가 보유한 매력에서 찾는 분석은 당연해 보이지만, 수요자인 중국인의 성향에 비춰본 연구도 필요하다. 공급자에게 수요자의 성향 파악이 중요한 이유는 지속적 관계 유지를 강화하기 위함이다. 왜 좋아하는지를 알아야 어떻게 관계를 오래 유지할수 있을지를 알 수 있기 때문이다. 중국인이 한국 대중 문화를 받아들인 배경을 중국인의 성향 에서 분석하고, 한류의 지속적 흐름을 유지하기 위한 방안도 중국인의 성향에서 모색했다. 중국인의 성향은 광대한 영토와 엄청난 인구 등 환경의 영향을 받아왔다. 그 결과로 인내심과 무관심 그리고 폐쇄성이 자연스레 기질 속에 자리잡았다. 중국인의 성향에서 볼 때 한국은 중국과 달라 보인다. 한국인은 인내심이 적고 남의 일에 무관심하지 않으며 결코 폐쇄적이지 않음을 알게된 것이다. 이와 함께 한국의 문화는 중국에서는 희미해진 공자의 유교 문화에 바탕하고 있음도 발견했다. 전형적인 유교 문화에다 서양에서 유입한 문화가 접목돼 있음도 보았다. 한국은 중국과 닮은 듯 다르고, 또 다른 듯 닮아있다고 느낀 것이다. 이처럼 불이부동(不異不同)의 혼재와 시간적·공간적 혼종(混種)이 중국인에게 한류의 매력으로 작용한 측면이 크다. 중국인의 성향속에서 도출된 사람과 사람 간의 관계를 뜻하는 ‘꽌시(關係)’도 한국의 연줄과 일견 비슷해 보이지만 다르다. 중국인의 문화 코드인 ‘관시’의 다양한 관점에서 한류 수용의 배경을 설명해 보았다, 중국 내 한류의 지속가능한 방안도 ‘꽌시(關係)’의 요체인 ‘쌍방향 교류’, ‘공동이익 추구’에서 찾아보았다.

The studies on ‘korean wave’, which means popularity of korean mass cultue, have shown a tendency focused on proving excellency of korean culture itself. In china also such an understanding that korean wave can achieve success for the sake of attractiveness it contains has been sonsidered as natural. Meanwhile it is also necessary to try researches from the viewooint of consumers’ chracter. It’s because understanding the consumer’s character can be the ways to maintain the sustainable relationship between consumers and providers. Chinese have endurance, indifference and closed mind as DNA in their blood which have been influenced by the vast land and terrible population. In chinese view, koreans are different from themselves in the fields of characters, customs and way of thinking as well. Meanwhile they also found that koreans are very simillar with themselves in terms of confucism based culture. Koreans and their mass culture have both similarities and differences as well in comparison with chinese. This study shows the factors thathave made chinese to recieve korean mass culture into their wall are the ‘guanxi’, the unique chinese human relationships. The backgrounds of successful landing of korean wave on China can be explained by using this code of chinese character. The sustainable way of maintaing korean wave in China also can be sought by joint pursuit of mutual interests based on the ‘guanxi’ relationship between chinese and koreans.
