본 연 구의 목적은 2018년 평창동계올림픽의 개최지인 강릉지역의 경제 활성화와 관광문화상품 개발을 위한 연구로서, 강릉지역에 전통적으로 전해져 오는 민속문화와 놀이문화를 행사(축제)문화콘텐츠로 개발하여 지역경제 활성화와 올림픽 이후에도 지속 가능한 축제문화로 발전시키는 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 세계인이 참여하는 동계올림픽은 스포츠 행사는 물론 문화축제로서 우리의 전통놀이문화를 세계에 알릴 수 있는 좋은 기회이다. 이미 유네스코에 세계인류 구전 및 무형문화유산으로 등재된 강릉단오제를 세계적인 축제로 정착시킬 수 있는 절호의 기회라 할 수 있겠다. 이를 위해 외국 방문객들이 호기심을 가지고 색다른 문화체험을 할 수 있는 강릉지역의 전통놀이 문화를 축제문화콘텐츠로 개발하여 2018년 평창동계올림픽의 성공적인 개최와 지역 활성화를 도모하고자 한다.

This study aimed to The research for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in economy and culture tourism product development area of Gangneung. To this end, the development of traditional culture of Gangneung area where you can play a unique cultural experience with the curious foreign visitors to the festival to promote cultural content and activation successful hosting of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and regions.
