이 연구의 목적은 초등학생 독자들이 가지는 읽기 흥미의 요인을 밝히는 것이다.이를 위해 초등학교 2,4,6학년 학생 264명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다.읽기 전 책을 선택할 때 고려하는 읽기 흥미 요인은 내용 관련 요소가 높게 나타났고,제목,주제,줄거리 순으로 나타났다.읽고 싶은 주제는 추리 영역이 가장 높게 나타났고,읽고 싶지 않은 주제는 동식물 영역 중 곤충과 사회 영역이었다.읽은 후에 형성된 읽기 흥미의 요인은 ‘재미,공감,좋아하는 주제,학습 가능성’으로 나타났다.

This study aims to find out the factors of elementary school readers’reading interest. In order to accomplish this research purpose, the following research questions are constructed; (1) what is the factors of reading interest that influence on readers’ book selection. (2) After reading, what factors make readers feel interested in text. Questionnaires and surveys were conducted from 2, 4, and 6th grade 264 elementary school students. The SPSS statistics was used for data analysis. The findings of data analysis showed that 1) elementary school readers considered content factors(title, topic, summary) for book selection to read, 2) they want to read about mystery area and do not want to read insect(in animal and plants area) and social area, and 3) after reading, they feel interest related with ‘fun, sympathy, topic, learning’ of text.
