신광수가 창작한「검승전」에 나타난 인물 관계를 다문화적 시각으로 재해석하여 검사를 재평가하고 작품의 현대적 의미를 모색한 결과 신광수가 검사, 검승, 검왜와 관련된 이야기를 그의 의도대로 재구성하고 인물들을 주관적으로 판단한 사실을 확인하였다. 또한 조선인 검사 그리고 왜인인 검승과 검왜를 동등한 선상에서 고찰하여 그들의 불행을 야기한 원인을 정주자와 이주자의 불평등한 관계로 파악하였다. 그리고 그들의 만남이 살인이라는 파국적 상황으로 치닫지 않게 할 수 있는 방안으로 대등한 인간관계의 정립과 인정(認定)을 제시하였다. 끝으로 정주자와 이주자의 만남이 상생의 관계로 거듭나기 위해서는 역지사지(易地思之)의 맥락에서 서로가 상대방을 이해하고 인정하며 근본적인 차이로 발생하는 갈등에 대해 지속적으로 성찰하고 해결할 수 있도록 협상하는 과정이 필요함을 강조하였다.

Reinterpreting human relationship of 「Geomseung-Jeon」by Shin Kwang Soo from multicultural view, revaluating Geomsa and seeking the modern acceptation of the work, I confirmed that the author Shin Kwang Soo reconstituted the story concerned with Geomsa, Geomseung and Geomwae with his intention. Considering Korean Geomsa and Japanese Geomseung and Geomwae at the same level, I also grasped the cause of their unhappiness as unequal relationship between a settler and an immigrant. I suggested a way to prevent their relations coming to a devastating end murder as recognition. To reborn relationship between the settler and the immigrant as relation of coexistence, we should understand and recognize the other party putting on the other’s shoe, and negotiate to introspect and solve conflicts occurred owing to radical differences of each other.
