대학 수업 현장에서 소모둠 활동을 활용하고자 하는 시도가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 소모둠을 활용한 수업 방식으로 최근 대두된 것인 팀 기반 학습(Team based learning)이다. 팀 기반 학습은 개별 수행과 팀별 수행 결과를 모두 고려한 수업 방식이다. 이 연구는 논증적 글쓰기를 중심으로 그동안 개별 수행만을 강조해 왔던 글쓰기 교육에 팀 기반 학습의 적용 방안을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 팀 기반 학습은 선행 학습, 준비도 확인 시험, 학습 내용 적용이라는 3단 계로 이루어진다. 이에 맞춰 논증적 글쓰기 교육에서는 선행 학습을 통해 학술공동체에서 존중하는 논증적 글쓰기의 특징을 학생들이 학습하도록 한다. 준비도 확인 시험에서는 개별 학생들이 선행 학습을 통해 학습한 정도를 평가하며, 동일한 문제에 대해 팀별로도 함께 풀 수 있도록 함으로써 동료 간의 협의가 이루어지도록 유도한다. 학습 내용 적용 단계에서는 팀원간의 토론과 토의를 거쳐 논증적 글쓰기를 위한 주제를 정하고 공동으로 개요를 구상한다. 그런 다음 공동 개요에 맞춰 개별적으로 글쓰기를 하고, 완성된 글을 서로 돌려 읽기를 하도록 한다. 이러한 글쓰기 교육에서의 팀 기반 학습은 팀원 간 상호 협력을 통해 글쓰기의 결과보다는 글쓰기의 과정을 중시할 수 있는 교육을 실현할 수 있다. 또한 학생들에게 문제 해결 행위로서 글쓰기를 인지시킬 수 있는 교육적 효과를 줄 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

The attempt to utilize the small group activity in university is active. The recent team based learning is attracting attention as a teaching method that utilizes the small activity. The team based learning is a teaching method considering all individual performance and team performance results. The purpose of this study based on expository writing is to examine the applications of team based learning to the writing education that has focused individual performance. The team based learning is composed of 3 stages of prerequisite learning, preparation confirmation test and learning content application. In compliance with it, the argumentative writing education makes students learn the characteristics of argumentative writing that is respected by the academic community through prerequisite learning. The preparation confirmation test evaluates the learned degree of individual students through the previous self-instruction, and allows a team to solve the same problem and cooperate with students. In the learning content application stage, students can decide a topic for argumentative writing and design together a summery through discussion and debate between team members. Then, they write individually in association with the common summary and read in turn the completed writing. The team based learning in the writing education can accomplish education that emphasizes a writing course rather than a writing result through mutual cooperation between team members. In addition, it is significant in that it has the educational effect that makes students recognize writing as a problem-solving behavior.
