본고는 생산자의 의도성과 수용자의 기대가 가장 강하게 드러나는 텍스트의 유형으로 논증 텍스트에 주목하고 교육적 측면에서 이와 관련한 지식 체계와 기능을 탐구하기 위한 목적을 출발점으로 한다. 논증 텍스트의 선행 연구를 통해 논증 텍스트에 대한 접근이 텍스트 전체 구조 차원에서 논의되었으나 구체적이고 실행적인 관계 구조 차원에서 다루어질 필요가 있음을 주목하고 텍스트 분석의 방법론으로 수사구조이론을 적용할 것을 제안하였다. 수사구조이론은 기술적 언어 연구 방법으로 텍스트의 종류, 길이에 관계없이 유연한 분석 기준이 적용된다. 이는 아직 밝혀지지 않은 텍스트의 결속성에 대한 이해를 심화시켜 줄 수 있다. 하지만 관계 유형의 종류, 분석자의 주관성, 분석 결과의 제시 방법 등에서 비판적으로 점검하거나 보완될 필요도 있다. 논증 텍스트의 수사구조 이론 적용 방안으로 ‘관계 제시’가 논증 텍스트 분석의 주요 의미 관계 유형(동기화, 가능화, 배경, 증거, 정당화, 반론, 양보)으로 타당하며 논증의 주제적 성격을 고려하여 ‘주제 내용’에서 주요한의미 관계로 분석될 수 있는 유형들을 선택할 필요가 있다. 이후에는 예비적 성격의 실제 텍스트 분석 과정을 거쳐 의미 관계 유형을 조정할 필요가 있다. 또한 의미 관계는 나열로만 구성되는 것이 아니라 위계적으로 구성되기 때문에 체계적인 분석 방법이 필요하며 교육적인 관점에서 분석할 텍스트를 선정하거나 분석 결과를 해석할 때 논증에 대한 평가를 염두에 두어야 한다.

Text-linguistics should continue organize types of texts and find principles developing methods of contents according to the text types based on the realization of the current state of production and distribution text. Developing methods of argumentive contents should be treated as dynamic and interactive concept in the cognitive development and social interaction dimension. Thus, I suggest the way of Application for analysis of argumentative texts through Rhetorical structure theory that Presentational relationship types Motivation, enabling, background, evidence, justification, Antithesis, concessions) are appropriate for analysis criteria. And it is necessary to select the other types that can be analyzed in the subject matter meaningful relationships in consideration of the thematic nature of the demonstration. After that, it is necessary to adjust types of meaning relationships through the analysis of actual text as a preliminary process. Relationships of text meaning could be listed horizontally as well as hierarchically that consists of systematic approach of Text-linguistics.
